Road to Zanzibar Reserve 2012
Deep garnet. Concentrated plum, black cherry, and grape jam flavors on the palate; whispering black fruit and holiday spiced aromas with round tannins. Long smooth finish. Great with a Kobe' burger and truffle French fries. This juicy fruit forward Zin blend shows the utmost class and sophistication.
Sonoma Valley is located in southeastern Sonoma County, between the Mayacamas Mountains and Sonoma Mountains, in the San Francisco Bay Area. Known as the birthplace of the California wine industry, the valley is home to some of the earliest vineyards and wineries in the state. It stretches from San Pablo Bay in the south to the city of Santa Rosa in the north. The Native American word Sonoma means "valley of the moon."
The area is known for its unique terroir with Sonoma Mountain protecting the area from the wet and cool influence of the nearby Pacific Ocean. The Sonoma Mountains to the west help protect the valley from excessive rainfall.
