Tasting Notes

On the nose you will pick up blackberries along with bramble fruit with a touch of cinnamon and baking spices. Those notes flow onto the palate as you indulge in your first sip. The flavors transition into more of a chocolatey cherry, blueberry Masterpiece. Brown Sugar and Pecan spices are teasing you as you come to this velvety, soft, rich, finish. Round tannins. Long smooth finish. Incredible with grilled Rack of Lamb, Short Ribs, Osso Bucco, or Porterhouse Steak.

Vineyard Notes

This beautiful Zinfandel exudes its lush deep dark color and matches the flavor and aroma profiles perfectly. Grown in Cienega Valley where the valley is bisected by the San Andreas Fault, and grapes benefit from the moderate climate in the 1,100-feet plus elevations which allows the perfect condition to Dryfarm the vines to produce the ultimate in deep structure of flavors. The valley is bisected by the San Andreas Fault. Soils on the east side of the fault line are fragmented granite and crumbled sandstone, while on the west side they are mostly granite and limestone. AVA encompasses a few hundred acres that are currently planted. Cienega Valley is accredited to my great, great, great, great uncle Theophile Vaché.
